What model is that and where are you located? For some Asian countries there are no OBD-II connectors even up to 1999 and you need have OBD-II connector for scan tools.

Check behind the glove box. It most probably is a 2 connector, 3 pin and 2 pin socket type.
2 pin is SCS short connector whereby you can get flash codes by bridging the terminals and turning ignition ON.

Scan tools needs an adapter for the 3 pin DLC socket.

Other areas you should check would be below the radio on either side of center console.

I've seen some of them located on the passenger side, in front of the console and some of them get hidden behind ash trays in the center console.

It should be there, behind the glove box. Did you check at the edges of carpet?

As I mntioned, don't expect an OBD-II terminal.

The OBD2 connector should be right under the left side of the dash. http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa448/Wrenchtech/83245523.gif
