recently had motor replaced suspect computer was not how do I tell?

clunk occurs when shifting from park to reverse and to drive also lacks forward motion in drive no transmission problems before motor was replaced
I did not do the work myself
vtech motor with automatic transmission
HELP
motor sounds great but still can not drive keeping my fingers crossed that I am not going to have to replace trans!!
