I dont see how the timing being off would cause your symptoms.Who told you to check the timing? Also just because the lights not on doesnt mean there arent and codes.I always check for codes first.

Symptoms indicates a possible fault with the IAC. If no trouble codes are present, have the IAC and throttle body cleaned and retest.

Not the starter. If it is starter you would not be able to crank. Neither is it alterntor. You are having issues with the cold start and it could be due to valves too tight, head gasket problem, IAC, spark plugs, ignition coils, plug wires.

DO you have coolant losses issues and/or overheating?

Yes. Just make sure to mark number to each spark plug from where u take them off. Write one on da first spark plug n before u pull another off mark one one one on coil top to connect them in da same place u took them off

Though you have no overheating do you have coolant losses issues? You mentioned rectifying the overheating, what was done and how long ago was it?
Have you tested the fuel pressure?

Did you check the coolant level in radiator. If the engine is difficult to start and struggles after starting and problem is not mechanically related, the highest possibility would be fuel pressure.

Before starting the engine, turn ignition switch ON for 2 seconds, OFF and back on again for 2 seconds and OFF. Repeat 2 or 3 tinmes and try starting. If starting is easier, check the fuel pressure. Either the fuel pump is weak or there is a leak in the line which normally occurs in the fuel tank, the hose between the pump and housing.

The videos you have seen regarding fuel pressure testing should be correct. Check out the following link.

No problem with cold start and only struggles when at operating temperature can be due to too low idling speed, valves clearances too tight, weak ignition coil and faulty ECT.
