I was driving up a freeway in my 1999 Honda Accord DX (2.3L) when the RPM started climbing really high and my speed started to drop. There was a very strong burning smell that resembled that of burning break pads. I pulled over and stopped to check it out. From there I could not get my car to move. It would start but no matter which gear I put it in it would not move. I can put it in 1st through reverse, remove my foot from the clutch and the engine does not die. Is this a problem with the clutch?

Yep. A bad one, too. You're going to need to replace the clutch assembly, as well as the throwout bearing, and have the flywheel machined.
