Will a 1996 4l60e transmission interchange with a 1999 4l60e the bell is longer and the torque converter is thicker on the 1999 and the spline shaft is different as the splines go to the entire length of the shaft where as the 1996 the splines are set back.
The bell has a different bolt pattern, and it is 1/2 in. longer, the torque converter is thicker on the 1999. the splines on the torque converter shaft for the 1999 are spline all the way to the end of the shaft, and the 1996 are spline about 1 inch back is there any hope?
maybe a special torque converter??
