why when i try to accelerate the rpm's don't go up

Sometimes when i accelerate the rpm on the dash wont go up it kinda stays on 1 and seems like it isn't getting the fuel what could be the problem?

Check the fuel pressure and possibly see how dirty the throttle body is.
