How do I install a new upper brake light lens please?

1999 Taurus SE wagon. How do I install a new upper brake light lens please? I have the new assembly including the reflector back plate but only the red lens glass was broken off and needs replacing. How do I detach the red glass lens from the new assy please so that I can install it? Do I just use a screwdriver to pry the red plastic cover off of the assy? Thank you. Peter

I looked at your owners manual, not any help at all. I did find the info below. Some of theses databases are not always correct. Here is how to replace the brake light bulb for the upper mount for both the sedan and wagon. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
