How to overcome high oil pressure?

My yacht has a Ford 1.8 diesel engine (marinised) and is in Turkey. Oil pressure is normally 30 psi but now, after a few minutes, jumps to 60 psi. The manual says due to stuck pressure release valve but to remove it requires removal of sump. Impossible without removal of engine. Is removal of sump necessary?
If so, is there any other method of reducing the pressure?
There are no facilities here and to reach a Ford dealer I may have to motor for 8 hours. Would this be likely to result in damage?
I will be grateful for any advice to enable me to escape from this predicament.
Thanks

i agree with stuck check valve. no short cuts here.

you can try some engine flush in the hopes it will free up the valve. it is an additive to the oil, let it run and get hot and then drop oil and filter and refill with new.
