hi i have a 1999 ford expedition eddie b. 5.4L. i just had the heater core replaced and 2 days after, the heat in the front went out. air still blows out the vents but it is cold and the heat still works in the rear. i have spoke to a few people, a couple of them are mechanics. one said its the blend door motor, the other said it may be an airpocket or something wrong with the heating core b/c the flow of the air changes from floor to defrost or to panel just fine and if it was the motor it wouldnt change. so i am curious to what it may be before i take it back to the mechanic who originally replaced the heater core b/c he wants to charge me labor cost to go back in repair. please help this vehicle is driving me crazy:(

Isn't that nice. He wants to charge you for something he most likely did wrong. I don't understand people.

Chances are it is the blend door. Here is how to tell. Start the engine, let it warm up with the front heater on. Feel both heater core hoses. Both should get hot. If they do, there is good flow through the heater core. Thus, the blend door is at fault. If only one hose gets hot and the other stays slightly warm or cold, it could be an air block and the system needs bleed.
