I HAVE THE TIMING PIN BUT I CANNOT FIND THE PLUG TO REMOVE.

I AM REPLACING THE TIMING BELT AND HAVE GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE I NEED TO PUT THE TIMING PIN IN. bUT I CANNOT FIND THE PLUG TO REMOVE IT. WHERE IS THE PLUG LOCATED EXCACTLY? I ALREADY DONATED THE FIVE DOLLARS EARLIER.

as i recall, the cams get locked from the rear of the motor with a straight edge that keeps them locked till the belt is installed.

what pin are you referring to??

this is a TIMING PIN. The directions say to unscrew a plug on the side of the engine and screw in this Timing Pin which then allows you to verify you have the Top Dead Center position correct. The Timing Pin is about 4 inches long. Any ideas on where the hole is?

look at this image and you will see it is below the exhaust amnifold on the side of the block

is it below the exahust manifold in front or of the engine compartment or below the exhaust manifold in the rear of the engine compartment?
