headlight wiring diagram?

When you say the fog light come on and stay on…….you mean with the key off and out, lights off………you walk away from the truck and they just stay on until the battery is low?

Key off and in my pocket, switch off, and door locked they stayed on for thirty minutes till i went out and pulled the ground wire apart again. The full VIN is 3B7HF12Z9XG177090. I am very thankful for and ideas you can suggest. All I can think of is maybe the switch is bad?

Hello - Wow - key off and in pocket.....sounds like it is a relay that is stuck Okay.........I have attached the wiring diagram as you requested. I had to do it several parts so you could see it. So you will probably have to print and tape together. You will have to do this with a few....I have overlapped for ease of putting together. I know you said the relay is good...I would still swap it with another like one to see if that made a difference.....you may already have though. I am giving you the diagram for headlamp without DRLs. Also, you said you ground the wire and the lights came on.....I have attached info on the lamps and it says it is grounded either by a wire or by the socket......so you might check to ensure the socket is properly in place, not corroded etc just in case it is grounded through it also. The problem with fog lamps is they are low and pick up rocks and trash and can be knocked around. I have attached some other info for you......I hope this helps...... It may be the switch..........as you said. Interior Lighting Notes The courtesy lights are controlled by the CTM. The door switches are inputs to the CTM and the courtesy lights are outputs. The glove box lamp and the ash receiver lamp (if equipped) are not controlled by the CTM, They are hardwired to individual switches and fuses. The ignition key halo lamp is controlled by the CTM and will remain ON for thirty seconds after the door is closed. The highline CTM also provides for illuminated entry option. If the CTM detects an unlock signal from the RKE transmitter, a door disarm switch input or the door jamb switch input, the interior courtesy lights will be turned ON. The illuminated entry function is canceled if the CTM senses and ignition "ON" condition or the "lock" command from a valid key fob. If a door is left open or the dome lamp switch is left in the "ON" position for more than fifteen minutes , the CTM will extinguish the lamps to avoid discharging the battery. If the lamps are turned ON by rotation of the headlamp panel dimmer switch, the CTM will not be able to turn them OFF. Headlamp Switch

I went through all I could find on the truck and could not fin anything wrong so I just did the easy thing and wired in a whole new switch.

I have the same issue with my 99 dodge ram 1500. I think my switch is bad but wanted to prove this. I did all the tests you suggested and found out the high quad high been relay was stuck so I replaced it and all fixed Thanks
