1999 Dodge Intrepid No compression cylinder 1

Attached is a Plug Reference Chart, to determine were to start looking. Also you can check if possibly the rings by squirting a little oil in the cylinder, this is called a wet test, if compression is present after adding oil and rechecking compression then the rings are bad. If the compression doesn't change then can be the Bent Valve or Broke Valve Spring. Removal of Valve Cover will verify Broke Spring and/or Bent Valve.

Also when testing compression should all plugs be removed. They eye not in this case. Only 1 and 2 were tested and 1 had nothing and 2 read 88.

Compression should be checked on each cylinder... You can remove one plug at a time and replace after compression check as to not mess up wires and firing order.... Also engine should be rotated 3 to 4 times for a good reading. And as I said if compression is low add a little oil to cylinder and test again. Note and post each cylinder reading.

Minimum Compression is 100psi. So a pressure between 130 and 200 with no more than a 25% difference between cylinder is good. So let say the the pressure in 3 of the 6 cylinders is 135psi the other cylinders shouldn't be any less than 101psi and no more than 168psi

We didn't go past 1 this time. 0 compression....so sad . Loved this car more than any I have ever had. Didn't do the wet test cus the rings on this car will be just as hard to repair as valves. Ty

Actually the valves would be easier... You don't have to pull engine out to do the valves... Just pull heads off...
