I have a 1999 dodge avenger and the heater fan doesn't work. I checked for power at the blower motor but there wasn't power. Could it be the resistor? How do I test the resistor? Is there anything else it could be? Thank you.

So when you check for power at the blower motor connector Did you measure for power across the two terminals? Or did you ground one lead to chassis ground and measure for power that way?

I measured across the two terminals. I don't know how you do it the other way.

So we may have a ground issue. What you do is turn the key to the run position and touch the black meter lead to a chassis ground.Meaning bare metal inside the car meter set to DC volt setting. The touch the red lead of the meter to one terminal of blower motor connector then to the other terminal. If you get a voltage reading at ether terminal note the voltage and wire color?
