1999 Chrysler Sebring noise going over bumps

Hello i noticed occasionally i hear a thump when i go over a bump in the road it seems,to be coming from the left front wheel well.i have also heard the noise backing and turning out of a parking space.i pushed down on the hood and did a shock test and heard it. I took the wheel off and found nothing obvious.i put it back on and did shock test again and it was gone but im sure it will happen again. I wonder what it could be?

This should be inspected at a tire and alignment shop. The common suspects are upper and lower ball joints, strut, upper strut mount, and control arm bushings. It will take the mechanic far less time to check all the possible causes than for me to try to describe the inspection procedures.

A worn anti-sway bar link will cause a thumping noise too. The clue for that is you'll hear it best at slow speeds like when driving through a parking lot, and the noise will always stop when the steering wheel is off-center by as little as 1/4 turn.
