cpm? are you referring to the PCM? powertrain control module? (this one tells your engine what to do) or TCM? transmission control module- tells your tranny how to shift, etc....

ok, the pcm is located on the driver side of the engine bay, and side-by-side of your TCM.... our diagram isnt showing a removal procedure.... from memory, i believe its held in by 8, or 7mm self tapping screws.... if my memory serves correct, there are 4 screws.... the screw, or screws on the bottom, i am almost certain sit sideways, and are easiest accessed with a gearwrench.... i dont think any were hidden, just a pain to get to.... i hope this helps.... can i ask why your replacing the pcm? also, are u getting a used one, or a new one? if your going the new route, it will need to be flashed, and that can only be done by the dealer....

Well, car stalled (no spark) after engine warm. A "mechanic" said throttle sensor needed to be replaced. Replaced, same problem. Then he said distributor needed to be replaced. Replaced, same problem. Had a complete diagnostic and determined computer kaputt. Bought one from a supplier I found on line in Miami, programmed and ready to install. I don't think there are any screws on bottom, the new computer has a tab on bottom with hole, I'm wondering if there is a spring or something attached to the tab. Maddening!!

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

check the wiring harness that sits in front of front valve cover.... i believe its the pressure switch for your a/c compressor, but the map sensor wiring runs above it... they melt together, and short out the 5volt reference.... i know, because it took me 6hrs to figure out on a 99 stratus.... hahaha.... terror.... check the wiring inside the loom.... betcha its melted... once it gets hot, it shorts out.... keep me posted!
