need help replacing pitman arm attached to gear box on 99 tahoe, unable to seperate from gear box

Just to add to this one they rent those tools at auto zone.Hope you had a great easter docfixit.

got that, the issue is i had to remove the gear box for the vehicle and i am having a difficult time cause it wants to spin and it is providing quite a bit of resistance

Alright so its out of the vehicle have you tried to put a piece of pipe over the end of the arm so one person can hold the pipe while the other uses the puller?Also some penetrant would help also.
