I've had a check engine light on in my truck for about a week now. I went to a mechanic to see what was wrong and he read the codes off to me: p0160 and p0161. I've googled the issue and it seems like it may be related to the oxygen sensor, but is it possibly a larger problem than just the oxygen sensor?

I would not think so I would replace the sensor and retest but most of the time when the heater is the problem then its the sensor.

So, i've replaced the o2 sensor that the code said was bad. p0161 is bank 2, position 2, which is passenger side downstream. I've now driven my truck about 70miles but the check engine light is still on.

How long does it take before the system resets? Should I unplug the battery or something?

I just drove it normally for 4 days and it reset itself. It took 170miles and 4 days after I changed the o2 sensor.

Thank you for your help!
