defroster 99 s10

99 s 10 heater wont come off vent to defroster or floor heat Just bought the truck, it has been sitting for a couple of years, I know the door for the vents etc may be stuck, and it may fix its self, but in the out side chance it wont i have no info on the truck, does it have a vacum motor for the door or is it and electric motor and where is it located, thanks

The heater system uses both the cable and a vacuum lines. If the vehicle has been sitting for a couple of years. Spray a little wd-40 into the heater controls. Don't spray where the fan speed switch is. move the controls back and forth a few times. Sometimes the rubber 0 rings get stuck from sitting in one positon for a while. Move the control up and down slowely to free up the lines.
