Blazer Howling noise during driving

My 99 Blazer is making howling noise from the front whenever it reaches 25 mph or more. Also, I tested by switching my auto gear to Neutral and the noise continued but lower down eventually. Do anyone know what is the problem. The sound does not occur during stationary when engine running at all.

sounds like a bad wheel bearing? or other bearing? does it go away diminish when you make turns? that usually indicates wheel bearing

No it does not go away when making turns. It only seem to soften when I tried to switch to Neutral when running around 30 mph and slow down due to disengage from the transmission. So do you think is wheel bearing???

are all your drivetrain fluid levels right? are the front end steering components/alignment good? are the tires good/evenly worn? Did you torque the front axle nut to the correct spec?

We noticed a howling noise coming from the Blazer on the way home from vacation. When it starts, you can get it to stop by either letting off of the gas or stepping very lightly on the brake. The sound is very similar to tire howling on the highway, but is not constant. While at a constant speed it only does it going up inclines. It also does it while accelerating. I've already checked the Transmission fluid and it was fine.

Sounds like the pinion bearing in the rear axle is failing. If you repair it now it likely won't need many other parts. Let it go and you will end up needing a new ring an pinion.
