clicking noise

My wife and i went to look at a 1999 astro for sale.It makes a fairly loud tapping noise when running and the serpentine squeals. could this two separate issues or maybe just a bad tensioner?

That would depend on where the tapping noise is coming from. If it is from belt area, it could be a worn serpentine belt. If noise is internal of engine, that could be bad valve lifters or even engine mechanical fault.
