Should I recharge my freon if my compressor is cycling on and off?

I bought a can of freon (16oz), gauge, and attachment hose. I then connected my hose to the lower valve with the AC and fan on full blast. I realize that my compressor will turn on and off if the charge is too low... but I am scared to continue charging it because the gauge will cyclone between 15-80Psi, should I continue to charge it?

Heres the problem you dont know how much charge you had in the system before you started adding it.You also dont know how much you put in the system.So you could be over or under charged.You cant tell by pressure how much charge you have the liquid part of the charge.

can you find the high side hose from the condenser to evaporter.find a little window on that line.it allows you to watch the freon as it flows.see if can find it.ty for using 2carpros
