wont go faster then 30 mph

My 99 A6 quattro is acting up it wont go faster then 30 mph when i give it gas it jumps i took it to maaco they said it shows codes for gas throttle position and the rpms are lower then a 1000

Plugged catalytic converter. Malfunctioning throttle position sensor. Exactly what codes were reported? Both hard and soft.

it wont go faster then 20 mph the more gas i give it it jumps like the transmission slipps

Have it scanned for codes, both hard and soft. Remove the catalytic converter and give it a quick test drive. If the problem goes away, the catalytic converter is plugged.
