Have owned this vehicle since it had only 35K miles back in 2002. Around 3 years ago the blower quit. I traced it to a partially melted harness next to the blower connector including the connector and blower connector housing. Replaced the blower with a brand new OEM Acura part and picked up a harness from a salvage yard in very good condition and spliced it in with crimp connectors to the existing lenght of the car harness, I assumed it was a worn out blower unit. This worked fine for about 3 years. This car had a service letter regarding this harness regarding the lenght, after a phisycal inspection determined it was done previously. Now 3 years later same thing happens, this time seems like the blowers bearings went out or something. Doesn't spin very freely, does not turn with power applied and the connecting harness melted at the crimp connectors I had installed. Why din't the fuse blew? This could have been a fire hazard!! Checked the relay and socket and did not see any kind of oveheating. Have you guys seen this problem before in other acuras. Trying to find the root cause (see pic). Are Honda parts now also built in China?? Please advice. Thanks!!Tony

high amperage draw causes this.the motor draws to much amperage causing overheated harnesses.

obviously a design flaw in wiring or blowers.

The burn-out at the connector terminals indicates loose connection which would cause overheating and failure over time. The fuse did not blow because there were no shorting of the circuit, just overheating due to high amperage draw.

If you replace the harness again, ensure the connector is tight by making the female end lock better. This can be done by using a sharp pointer to turn the locking tabs closer.
