acura cl 2.3 transmissiom

Hi I have a acura cl 1999 2.3 4 cyl. auto transmission. The problem with the car is that the car is cold or been long time no nrunning like 2 or 3 hours when shift to second and third gear it does to hard just kick like a mule but after 5 minutes start driving perfect. It is any kind of a selenoid or sensor that is making this malfunction or I need to replace the tranny. thank you
