My golf is a 1.4, needs a new clutch and is due a service and also an mot, my insurance re newel is due in a week and im not sure if the car is worth repairing. Ive been told im better off buying a new car, same make and model for, say a grand, instead of paying for it to be fixed. What would you guys do? how much will it cost to fix?

Trust me this is something you could possibly do yourself with the help of a knowledable friend. You'd be surprised at how many people bleed their breaks, put on breaks, change oil, and yes if you can get someone to help u you'd save yourself a few quid! We're in a very similar situation ourself actually. We have a really nice black golf, 62,ooo on the clock n we really dont want to part with it! Although we've had our runarounds with garages on that 1 even getting a new timing chain!(All for an over-heating problem!?). I'm going to have to get the haed gasket looked at then priced? It's hard I do understand we paid 3,800 on this and now a family member offered e200. Now i've to make my ind up fast too! Hope u have the best of luck whatever u decide!
