Car won't go into the programming mode to reset key less entry

Here are the instructions on how to add a key remote in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

I did change the battery in the factory remote but it didn't work. I also had changed the battery in the car. When I try to put the car into programming mode by holding the button for 20 seconds, it doesn't go through the lock cycle to program.

Do you have any working remotes that you can try to use to put the system into programming mode?

There are no working remotes at this time. I have the original remote which worked at one time. It stopped working so I changed the battery and it still did not work. I bought a new remote and as I try to put the car into programming mode as told in the owners manual by pushing the button under the dash, nothing happens. The car will not go into programming mode. It use to work.

Heres the instructions to program your remotes

1. Open the driver's door.
2. Turn the vehicle ignition to the ON position.
3. Press and hold the Programming button* in.
-. After approximately 15 seconds, the door locks will cycle 3 times. This indicates that the system is in the Transmitter Programming Mode. Do not release the Programming button.
4. Press the LOCK button on the new transmitter. The door locks will cycle once.
5. Repeat step 4 for any additional transmitters.
6. Exit the Transmitter Programming Mode by releasing the Programming button and turning the vehicle ignition off. Test all remote transmitters to ensure that they work properly.

The Programming Button is located under the driver's side dash beneath the diagnostic connector (to the right and below the fuse block access cover).

i just had a new starter put in, and now my alarm system is constantly going (no sounds, just lights). the parking lights and entire dash board blink on and off to a 'click' sound repeatedly, then it stops for a moment and repeats all over again. i have had this problem before and the solution was to disconnect the battery with the key in the ignition turned to a certain notch and then reconnect the battery and wala! only i tried it this time and unless i'm forgetting a step it didn't work. i also don't have and never had a remote to access the security system... if that is needed information. i hope this question can be answered.

i found the answer, and its an odd one, but it fixes the problem here it goes...


-detach the black negative cord from the battery for a moment or 2

-put the key in and turn it all the way

-reattach the black negative cord to the battery

-turn the car on without ever removing the key or turning it back before you turn it forward to start the car

that's it! simple but weird i think =)
