What we need are wiring diagrams of both and things like that that we need to plug into the motor.

Just to add to this one is the car a stick or automatic transmission? Also does the car have air injection?Do you have smog checks where you live?

both are manual transmission. We never heard of air injection so we don't know if it does and as far as I know we don't have smog checks.

Was there a vacuum solendo and valve with larger hose coming off it on top of your a/c compressor? Also what your trying to do is crazy i think because its a down grade on your engine plus there is a lot of factors involed here your going with a older engine its a single cam rather then a dual cam.I have never swaped a single for a dual cam or vice verus nor would i try.I have taken a twin cam 1996 SL2 and put a 1998 SL2 engine in it both twin cam engines and the only thing i had to swap was a couple of engine sensors.Iam checking on compatiablity issue from the twin cam to the single cam.The variables will be the engine harness and the underhood fuse box.Iam not sure if those are the same as the single cam one.

Well the 98 dual cam for the Saturn has been know to break and that's what happened. and we have another car with the 96 single cam with 250,000 miles on it and it's still going fine with 40 MPG so personally I think the single cam is better especially since the one were putting in only has 60,000 miles on it. But anyway I don't know about the a/c compressor my dad is the one working on it and i don't know a lot about cars he just asked me to find out certain things and he's not going to be around for the next week. Thanks for you help though. Just want to know the things that we need to use from the donor car and from the original body in order for this to work and hopefully.

What has been known to break on the 1998 dual cam engine?Off the top of my head i cant think of what your talking about breaking on the 1998 dual cam engines.Just a fun fact about the single cam saturn S model engines there known for the number 3 or 4 cam journal cracking on thehead causing the oil to flood into the coolant. You have to replace everything when that happens worse part is flushing all the oil out of the coolant.I have had to make tons of these repairs on these engines we nick them a milk shake when it happens. Can happen anytime without any warning. So other then that your right they are great engine iam not be sarcastic ethier i like there design.I was asking about if your car had that air injection because were going to have to change your engine harness along with the computer. So i was trying to figure out if were going to change your underhood fuse box.
