Recently had spark plugs changed car lags going into third and fourth gear when accelerating, could it be because of the spark plugs or wires?

i would look at the fuel pressure first.
which motor??
have the cat converter checked as well.

Just to add to this one the SL1 only has one engine option the 1.9L single cam engine.so did you have this issue before you had the plugs and wires were changed?Also what kind of plugs did they put in?Also i would make sure they routed the wires correctly.
