Hello, My mother asked me to help her with moving the side mirror from the car to it's neutral position but when I moved the body I accidentally moved the mirror also and now the remote control function is not working for the mirror. I was wondering also if moving the mirror with your hand instead of with the remote would mess up a side view mirror.

it cold because it's an electric motor that does it. try pulling fuse with key on see if that fixes it.

Okay I will try that. Also when you push the buttons to move the mirror you can hear the motor moving but the mirror does not.

if you can hear the motor then it's probably stripped the gears inside to move it. you'll probably have to replace it. try a junkyard for a cheaper option.

Okay I will take the mirror off to look at the retainer, I'm just hoping that motor is not messed up and that the retainer is the only issue.

Thank you for all the information you gave me I really appreciate it. I'm trying to become more car savvy so that way I can fix anything that get broken.
