1998 Plymouth Voyager Power steering pump

My power steering pump needs replaced do I have to take the front axle off to replace it or can I do it from up top by removing the alternator. There is a almost a L shaped rubber tubing that comes off the top of the pump could I replace that with a new one ?

remove pump from bracket and flex line for easier yet removal. the one axle shaft will have to be removed see pic
