i have a 1998 oldsmobile cutlass that overheats, we have replaced the resivor, the cap and the hoses. and it still overheats

Now consider replacing some parts that might cause overheating. First of all, does the radiator fan turn on? If not, start diagnosing that. If there's signs of bubbles in the reservoir when the engine is running, have it checked for a leaking head gasket. Those are the two most common causes of overheating.
