brake light switch is bad. it is on the brake pedal. un hook it and see if the lights go out.

where on the pedal... I'm fairly mechanically inclined, BUT I don't see anything attached to the pedal. thanks

it is up at the top of the pedal.

replace the switch. you have no brake lights at this time.
