Coming off the bottom radiator hose there is a metal line that runs along the frame at the bottom of the engine around the back of the engine about halfway and hooks into another rubber hose. Does anyone know what the term is for this steel line or a part number for it.

Car listed above is a Mystique.

Hello,

I believe that is the transmission cooler line.
Can you upload a picture? it will be easier to verify.

I don't believe it is a transmission line as there is coolant coming out of it. I think it is leaking around a bracket that attaches to the oil pan. I will try to get a picture and post it later today.

Sounds good. As from the radiator you will have the 2 main radiator hoses and the transmission cooler lines. But yes, the picture should help.

No, it definitely comes out of the lower radiator hose and it has coolant leaking from it not transmission fluid. The rubber hose at the right side of the picture is the bottom radiator hose. The metal line I'm referring to looks like it is hooked into this part of the bottom radiator hose.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Just to here add my two cents. That looks to be the metal feed tube that supplies coolant to the heater core from the lower radiator hose. I can give you a part number tomorrow if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hello again.

Sorry, I just tried to get a part number from Ford but found out that it is discontinued. Your best chances are to find one at a pick-a-part or wrecking yard. If there is a hole or crack maybe try finding a local welder. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Thanks for the effort, Danny. I figured it was no longer in production. For the time being, I just cut out the rusted section and put heater hose on it. Would you happen to know what it is technically called? I can't find pictures or references to it anywhere.

Hello again.

I tried to find any and all info on it the last few days with no success. Once it is discontinued all information is discarded including from local Ford dealers. If I had to guess I would call it the heater core feeder tube. Glad to hear you were able to patch it but I hope you can find a viable replacement in the future soon. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros. We hope you will use our site again as well in the future when needed.
