there is no drive on my mercedes s420 1998 automatic transmission just stop working when i stop on the stop light.the reverse works sometimes but no drive on all gears.how many transmission fluid does it take for the right level.

Check the fluid level. Add 1 quart at a time till it comes up to the correct level. the trans holds about 15 total.

It sounds like you have an internal failure in the trans. It may have to come out and be inspected for failure
