I can prime it and it will start, but will not stay running. does have fuel at carb.

check fuel pressure with a gauge 55-71 psi auto parts rent it. also make sure that the inertia switch isn't engaged it's under right side of dash below glove box. there should be a Schrader valve on fuel rail to hook up gauge. also try resetting security system if no manual look online.

it is a carburetor, not fuel injected. but thank you anyway

ok then it should be at least3.5 lbs and flow about a pint or so in 30 seconds. it may be time for a rebuild due to alcohol in todays fuels. we only list a b2500 for 98 inour manual.
