I purchased my Jeep new in 1998 and have had very few mechanical problems, with one major exception.
When the Jeep was about 5 years old the coil broke,(the electrical one, not the springs) Since then I've had to replace it at least 5 times, maybe 6. (Twice in the past 10 months)
No one has an explanation, do you?
It's bloody inconvenient.

Coils don't really break. They do lose a little power over time though. You probably have high resistance in the circuit elsewhere and only a coil at peak power will overcome it. Look hard at the plugs, wires and the power feed to the coil. Make sure you are not buying cheap Chinese made coils either.
