Trans works fine but rear wheels, and drive shaft, do not engage.
Shift to 4 wheel drive, vehicle becomes front wheel drive. It will drive in 4 wheel but rear shaft does not turn.

sounds like a failure in the transfer case. have it checked. it may have to be replaced.
