98 civic 1.6L SOHC. started with a IAC and system to rich code. changed IAC. then came up with multi misfire code. changed plugs, wires, distrib cap and rotor and internal coil in distrib. then came up with #4 misfire and manufacture specific code for valve clearance/ or stopped EGR valve... car does not have EGR!!! so adjusted valves .007in and .009ex (did exactly as Honda service manual said, TDC on compression stroke. rotate 180 for each cylinder after) unplugged cleaned and repluged every connection under hood (didn't miss any)... retorqued head bolts to 49lb, and retorqued intake and exhaust manifold bolts. checked timing. checked for vaccum leaks checked under hood front to back!!!!!!!! now have oil and steam building up in air box after being drove, loss of power, and some nasty chatter under acceleration. figure its a blown head gasket or fried rings... so what do I have? im ready to rebuild or replace head gasket or all... or just burn it to the ground... rather not do bottom end.... car has 211,000

Have you checked engine compression? Have you checked to make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugged?
