1998 Holden Jackaroo no crank

gday just wondering why my car wont crank when i turn the key it does nothing no sounds or anything except this buzzing sound when the ignition is in on position but it has no oil so i dont know if its a safety thing because a light comes up on dashboard saying check engine

No oil in the motor? if that is the case make sure that the engine is not seized, bump the engine in gear and see if it turns, is that is ok, check battery and cables, check for power at the starter solenoid with the key on crank, and if that is ok pull the starter out and get it looked at, start here.
