1998 GMC Jimmy hesitates on wide turns, left or right on initial acceleration.

Hello, my car drives good after initial take off. I noticed on initial accelerations turns going right or left there is a slight hesitation when turn wheel back straight than a fast take off. I Have did oil change and tuneup 2 months ago. Which before then, i had a PO171 and po174. After new spark plugs, wires, distributor and distributor cap car runs much better without codes just with this hesitation on turns problem.

try cleaning the throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner and iac hole then get fuel pressure checked with a gauge

I cleaned throttle plate and replaced iac. afterwhile, things ran ok, but now i get same symtoms. My fuel pressure can to 51 psi and then falls steady after about 2 min to 35 psi where is holds for about 15 min.

if ita 4.3 which I think it is it should be 60-66 psi sounds like time for a fuel pump.

I have changed fuel pump and pressure is at 60-66psi. I drove for a week without any noticeable hestitations, but now since changed pump i get "low fuel" indicator and gauge does not move at all. What be the first thing i should do before dropping tank again. Thanks.

check to see if connector is in all theway and any pinched wires around tank. otherwise it may be the fuel sender. could be a bad ground as well so make sure that wire is clean by the tank.

I have connector out and tank half way down. Connector seems good is there a way I can test connector for voltage for sending unit?

if you know the wire is for sender ground it out and see if gauge goes to full if it does then it's the sender or something jamming it it's the purple wire also get it scanned because it may be a module problem as well.

I would put a resistor from sender hole and ground in connector than hook battery. Turn on engine to on position. That watch gauge. Is this correct?

check to see if yo have power there it will be low voltage if you do then have it scanned. it may be a module problem. or try it the way you want. I don't know what size resistor to use on this. as they are all different and on a fuel sender the resistance changes as fuel goes down.

I figure I out. It turned out the black and white cord got lose from sliced connector. I went on redid all the wiring to fuel pump with sliced connectors than heat shrink them all. Gauge works and pressure is at 60 to 66 psi. Thanks.
