Ford ranger splash can i drive with air flow sencer unpluged it still runs so far without it

I tried to leve a parking lot and the idle was good but when i pressed the gas it would jump and spit
My son unplugged the air flow sencer and at first i had to keep it running i got home and it stayed runing it had more power without it. Can i keep driven without it pluged up.
