I'm on my FIFTH rear window wiper motor. New motors installed work for about 2-6 months. Then fail.
The only way to get wiper to move when switch in ON is to physically pull wiper away from window and upward so wiper engages. It works fine until shut-off. Then, won't re-engage unless physically moving the wiper arm upward. When arm is removed, motor woks fine. Who wants to stop car when raining/snowing, get out to engage rear wiper??
I've replaced arms and blades. Have used re-manufactured motors from Advance Auto and Auto Zone. All have failed. Motor was replaced twice at dealership and they failed. But did last a little longer.
I've checked the mounting bracket for alignment and it is tight and secure. Could it be bent? Am getting 12V to the motor.
Research from others who have same problems indicate poorly engineered system. No kidding!
What else should I do to finally resolve this issue? Driving me nuts!
