So in my friend's 1998 Ford Escort there is a ticking sound. It's not a very high pitched sound but not very low either. It sounds as though it is coming from near the valve cover/fuel injector area. We checked the oil and it was fine. We sea foamed it, then changed the oil and the air filter, ran fuel injector cleaner through it and there is still a ticking sound. I'm hoping it isn't something to major and I also don't want to continue spending money that might not even solve anything. Any ideas?
