Started car and wipers were on and then the alarm went off.Needed a new battery did that trigger pats system? Never even knew the car had a alarm.

ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM
Arming System
Turn ignition off and remove key. Close all doors. Press LOCK button on transmitter to lock doors. Alarm warning light will turn on. Wait for anti-theft warning light to turn off.
System can also be armed by turning ignition off and removing key. Open a door. Alarm warning will flash. Lock doors with power door switches. Alarm warning light will turn on. Close all doors. Wait for anti-theft warning light to turn off.
Disarming An Untriggered System:
Unlock driver or passenger door using vehicle key or remote transmitter. Turn ignition switch to RUN or ACC position.
Triggering System:
Alarm will sound when any door is opened without first using key, keyless entry code, or remote transmitter to unlock door first.
Disarming A Triggered System
Unlock driver or passenger door with key, or unlock driver's door using remote transmitter.
