How do I replace the Rear Spark Plugs from the Top of the Vehicle?

Remove the wiper arm assembly , blades, and remove the cowl cover from the engine compartment. Disconnect the wiper motor unit from the wiring harness. Disconnect the washer fluid hose, drain tubes and attachments such as the sound absorber. Remove the wiper motor unit from the dash assembly and set aside with all corresponding parts.

Thank you for your response BMRFIXIT. Your instructions helped to access rear spark plugs on a 98 chrysler town & country with 3.8 ltr V6 engine. Any further instructions or suggestions ?

Shakes or Wobbles problem

when i'm doing 45-65 the car shakes. the tires was replace, the spark plugs and the rotors were change and it still doing it. what causing to shake and trembles like that.

The problem could come from many things. Is the engine running properly, there must be a problem in the drive line. Does the vibration seem to be more noticeable in the steering or the seat?

I have a 1997 Town and Country Van, it has 155,000 miles on it and it has a 3.8 liter V6 engine. At about 1500 rpm it starts missing real bad or stumbling, below this rpm its fine and above this rpm its fine. And it won't do this until I have driven it a little while for it to warm up to operating temp. I just replaced the spark plugs and wires and this didn't help.

Check your throttle position sensor

I have begun to change the spark plugs on my 1996 chrysler town and country. It has the 3.8 six cylinder with auto transmission. I was able to change the front three no problem however, I found that I needed to take off a whole bunch of body parts to get to the back three. Even after removing all of the stuff in the way, there still isn't any room the get to them. After a whole lot of blood, sweat, and tears I finally was able to get the far left one out and put in the new one. I then moved over to the middle back plug and found it near impossible to get out, but after a few hours it was out also. Now I am not able to get the new plug to start threading into the whole. I've tried all the old tricks. It just doesn't seam to want to start. I checked the old plug to see if it had evidence of crossthreading ,but it looked ok. I even tried a different plug ,but still no go. I've also tried accesing it from below,but that's impossible also. If I'm not able to get the plug back in, I'm looking at a tow bill and a hefty service charge I'm sure. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can give me.

One of my favorite old tricks was to attach the plug to a piece of hose. Small fuel line or vacuum line, what ever works. It should be stiff enough to get the plug to where it needs to be and flexible enough to spin the plug in. It is flexible enought to go where knuckes, sockets and extensions won't and will not allow the plug to cross thread.

My next 2 favorite old tricks are patience and persistence. :) Crawl around and try to find a different angle.

I have a 1995 Town and Country with 196,225 miles. I changed the front spark plugs 2 days ago, but I can't get to the rear 3 plugs. I was told that I would have to take the exhaust off. Do I, and what is the best way to get to them? Also I am putting High Mileage oil in. Which is better: high mileage or synthetic? I changed the transmission fluid after 30,000 miles. What is the best interval and type of ATF fluid to use? Also, I heard there are many problems with this transmission? Is it true and what are the problems?

if you have a pair of ramps, pull it up on top and set the park brake. then slide in under from the front on your back. then you can almost set up behind the engine and get to the plugs. be safe and good luck...vandrangon

Remove the windshield wiper/motor module assembly from the vehicle for access to the spark plugs on the firewall side.
