Cruise control problem - 98 Chrysler Sebring Convertible 2.5L - When the cruise is turned on the dash indicator light turns on but the cruise does not engage and take over. Is there a simple fix or will it require diagnosis?

Yes will need scan tool but few thing can check out
Check fuse
Need OHM meter check brake switch on top pedal see diagram
Released between 5-6 continuity
Depressed between 1-2 continuity
Depressed bewteen 3-4 continuity and check vacuum to servo
