My car overheats. I had all lines replaced, thermostat, and water pump checked. I was told that there is a sealant you can use to stop head gasket leakage. What would you suggest?

Are you sure the head gasket is a problem? If so, tell me how it was diagnosed. Also, I don't like using any of the sealers. They are a temporary fix which usually don't work in the first place.

I was told by machanic. Furthermore I think he was too damn lazy to actually tell me he did not know what he was doing.

Okay, I need more info. When would the vehicle overheat? Was it in stop and go traffic, highway speeds, or both?

Next, check the engine oil to make sure there are no creamy substances in it. When coolant and oil mix, it turns a really ugly tan/light brown color.

If that is good, when the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and start the engine. Does coolant shoot out?

Let me know.
