Grinding Noise

Can you tell aprox where the sound is coming from?

I can't exactly. I would like to guess the engine. My check engine light started flashing as soon as the grinding and ticking began. It also makes the same noise as it is running.

If the light came on, there is a trouble code stored that will identify where the problem is coming from. You need to have the computer scanned. Most nationally recognized parts stores will do it for free.
