My 1998 lumina has had the tie rod ends, lower ball joints and strut bearing assembly and race replaced as well as having a wheel alignment. After all of this the car wants to float or sway or oversteer itself when you reach 55 mph. The chevy dealer said the rubber bushings are in need of replacement (for $ 1000 bucks), and throws his hands up and offers no solution. Could it be the Rack & Pinion or the rubber bushings causing this problem?

Have you checked the tire pressure?Over inflated tires will do that.

Yes, I had two new tires put on the back of the car, and I took the two older tires off the back and put them on the front. At 55mph if I touch the steering wheel in order to bring it back to center, the steering is so reactive it oversteers?

The tire psi is 32 on both. I'm not sure what rubber bushings the service rep. at the chevy dealership was refering too. Whatever is located in the suspension, he quoted me $1000 to replace them>

I'm unable to view the specs you sent me. When I click on the spread sheet the sheet enlarges but the "Add A Reply" message box pops up and covers the info.
