1998 Chevrolet Corvette ambient air temp

Outside air temp reads wrong always usually shows 69 but going up and down now showing as low as -35 below so a/c won't work.i replaced sensor 3 times now. 2 from Napa and one from Chevrolet still screwed up help ???

Wiring problems are a lot more common than a failed temperature sensor. You can prove that by using a jumper wire in place of it. If it still reads a very low temperature you'll need to work your way back to a corroded or stretched terminal in a connector or a cut wire. If anyone ever pierced a wire to take a voltage reading, moisture will get in there and corrode the wire, especially if it is aluminum that GM was famous for using. Those things will cause varying readings. A solid break will cause a constant very low reading like you're getting now.
